My three favourite places to have brunch in Budapest

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And I agree! At least if it includes pastries, boiled eggs and fresh orange juice 🙂 If it was up to me, I would have brunch every day and I know some of you would as well! Anyways… when I was in Budapest back in April, I tried out a few brunch/breakfast places for you. These are my three favorites.

Kino Café Mozi

This café is right next to the Comedy Theatre of Budapest and is part of a Kino Mozi, a cinema (hence the name).

I was so hungry I forgot to take photos at the time 🙂 but I’ll do my best to describe it to you as good as possible!

  • DitrĂłi MĂłr u. 1, 1137 Budapest
  • Bus: Jaszai Mari tĂ©r (6, 9, 26, 91, 191, 226, 291, 923 & 931)
  • Tram: Jaszai Mari tĂ©r (4 & 6)
  • Metro: Nyugati pályaudvar (M3)
Actually this cinema café is exactly how you would expect a cinema café to be: high ceilings, wooden floors, cinema posters everywhere you look and even the ticket office and access to the cinema is in the café. It is not particularly tastefully decorated but the cultural atmosphere is in the air (just like the free wifi).

Now, we were talking brunch. There are different breakfast formulas you can choose from but there are also sandwiches, toasts and salads. Freshly squeezed orange juice: check, good coffee: check, your next place to brunch in Budapest: double check.

STIKA Budapest

STIKA breakfast

STIKA is a very hip brunch place. The two owners (you recognize them by their bow ties) are specialised in coffee and wine.

Definitely worth to go and check it out!

There’s a lovely terrace in the front, looking out on a crossroad with a park (Klauzal Ter) on the other side. The café has an industrial look and there’s lots of natural light. The breakfast was delicious: freshly baked eggs and bacon with whole wheat croissants. And a lovely coffee as a finishing touch, prepared by the friendly staff.

Zoska Reggelizo Kavezo

Zoska Breakfast Café is a cute breakfast place in one of the side streets of Muzeum krt, just outside the Palace District. The soft colours inside go great with the furniture and there’s even a small mezzanine with room for about two tables.

  • Ferenczy István u. 28, 1053 Budapest
  • Bus: Astoria (9, 15, 115)
  • Tram: Astoria (47, 48 & 49)
  • Metro: Astoria (M2)
Zoska Budapest Your breakfast is served on what could be the plates and cutlery of your granny. There is a menu with different options, American pancakes, milkshakes, yoghurt and muesli, etc. In other words: a good place to wake up and charge your batteries for some good city tripping.

Enjoy my fellow explorers! And let me know what you think of these brunch and breakfast places.
